It\u2019s time to take a look at your calendar and mark some very special days that are related to cancer awareness.<\/p>\n

(1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mesothelioma Awareness Day | September 26, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course we are going with Mesothelioma Awareness Day as the number one cancer related event that you should have on your calendar. \u00a0This is for a few reasons. \u00a0The first is that mesothelioma is a lesser known cancer and so the designated day of awareness is relatively unknown. \u00a0\u00a0Spreading word of this day can mean brand new information to those that need it. \u00a0\u00a0Another reason this day tops our list is that because asbestos is still around us.\u00a0 Mesothelioma Awareness Day raises asbestos exposure awareness that can be helpful in everyday situations. \u00a0\u00a0Some examples are making sure work areas, schools and homes are safe from asbestos.\u00a0 As a nation, we need to work to ensure that asbestos is no longer a health threat.<\/p>\n

(2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Susan G. Komen 3-Day | Year Round<\/strong>

Susan G. Komen has done so much for breast cancer research, awareness and creating a positive community around those diagnosed with breast cancer.\u00a0 While the Susan G. Komen Race for Cure events are very well known, the Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 3-Day, 60 mile event. \u00a0\u00a0It is a large commitment in many respects as each participant is required to raise at least $2,300 to participate.\u00a0 The benefits of the 3-Day events are great. \u00a0The 3-Day events are held in major cities across the nation throughout the year.<\/p>\n

(3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Muddy Buddy Adventure Series | Year Round<\/strong>

\nMore men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in a given year in the U.S. than women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.\u00a0 It\u2019s estimated that \u00a01 in 6 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.\u00a0 Prostate cancer awareness events are less common than breast cancer events. \u00a0The Muddy Buddy Adventure series is a fitting event that raises money for prostate cancer.<\/p>\n
